The Grand Prix de Monthey was dominated by Hungarian competitor Norbert Toth and Czech competitors in the summer heat. 

On the weekend of September 9-10, 2023, the 3rd annual "Grand Prix de Monthey" two-part pedestrian race took place in the south of Switzerland in the canton of Valais.

He organized it for the third year already Club de Marche de Monthey (CMM) in collaboration with Swiss Walking Federation under the baton of a Swiss international referee Frederic Bianchi weekend of walking races. 

First day on Saturday 9.9. raced in the summer heat (30°C in the shade) at the stadium - Stade du Verney in Monthey in walking on the track on the 5.000m and 10.000m tracks, the second day on Sunday 10.9. then there was an 8km mountain walk with an elevation gain of 720m on the road from Epinassey (420m.asl) to Mex located at an altitude of 1.136m above sea level 

The very experienced Hungarian racer Norbert Toth (2001) completely dominated both race days already in Monthey, when he won on Saturday's track ten with a huge lead with an excellent performance of 44'04'' ahead of the Czech junior representative who was second in the order by Adam Zajiček (2003) 46'02'', so that in Sunday's mountain 8km walk, both of them will have a big fight for first place, which in the end Toth 52'00'' was just 52 seconds ahead of Adam Zajíček's 18'18''. 

The ranking in third and fourth place was the same for both days and mainly in the possession of Czech competitors: in third place Albert Kukla (2004) -10.000m 47'43'' and 8km 54'52'' and in fourth place Martin Nedvídek (1975) - 10.000m 48'35'' and 8km 59'22'.

The women's starting field was much thinner than originally expected, as not all entries appeared on the track and at the Verney Stadium, due to injury or illness. The Czech junior representatives dominated Saturday's track top ten Ema Klimentová (2005) with a performance of 53'10'' and Alžběta Franklová (2005) - 59'17''. In the Sunday mountain walk you Ema Klimentová  she came for winning double, with a time of 1:01'56'', surprisingly, she came in second place Swiss veteran Dora Briere (1959!!) - 1:04'40'' and she only finished in third place Alžběta Franklová - 1:09'26''.
