At MU in Ptuj, Slovenia, the ever-improving teenager Vojtěch Novák improved his track 5.000m walk to 23:32,38, and student Marek Rösler in Turnov showed a huge 3.000m walk 14:23,77 in a solo race on the track! !! BRAVO guys!!! Congratulations!!!

This season brings, from the perspective of pedestrian youth, a whole range of pleasing performances. This year, after many years of performance dominance by girls, the times are shining even among pupils and teenagers.

11.6. the Slovenian Ptuja hosted the international pentathlon CZE - HUN - POL - SLO - SVK U 16/17.

RESULTS MU PTUJ U16/U17.pdf / ERGEBNISSE PTUJ U1/U17.pdf

Matěj Piták and Adéla Pittnerová were included in the youth national team selections before the season. However, Adéla has not yet started a walking race this season and, like Matěj, who has only one walking start, she prefers cycling. Although the nomination for MU was closed only on June 5.6, when Matěj was already certain of the second place in the table (performance 24:47.15), he did not appear in the selection, most likely due to his cycling duties.

He won the right to start as a clear pedestrian number one Vojtech Novak (TJ Slezan Frýdek - Místek, tr. Nejezchleba) and with him Vojtěch Peroutka (Dukla Prague, tr. Javůrek/Svoboda). He improved from the indoor bronze with a performance of just under 30 minutes in Nové Město to 27:21 and thus gained the opportunity to start in the interstate match.

Among the girls, she got the opportunity to wear the pair's representative jersey Eliška Kokořová (TJ Slezan Frýdek - Místek, tr. Nejezchleba) a Ema Kyselicová (Spartak Prague 4, tr. Kubicová).

The race took place in windy weather. In the junior competition, it was clear in advance, due to the performance of our girls in the 5000m, that our athletes would close the starting field of eight walkers. Hungarian representative Alexandra Kovács won with an excellent performance of 23:46,54. Three female walkers came under the 25-minute limit, the fourth Hungarian did not beat her by only 12 seconds. Our girls performed at the limit of their capabilities, when Ema Kyselicová even set a personal record and improved by almost 15 seconds to 29:15.34.

This year, Eliška Kokořová still lags behind last season's performance, but at least she improved this year's time to 29:22.57. Despite their currently best performances, the gap between our girls and sixth at the finish line was abysmal - more than 2 minutes, and hopefully this experience will not discourage the girls, but will be a motivation for them for further work.

In walking 5000, our walkers fared significantly better. Lethe significantly improving Vojtěch Novák was just 3 seconds behind the road OR from Poděbrady on the track, moving his track time from NMnM to 32:23 by 32.58 seconds. He finished in fourth place, Pole Jasinski won in 23:13.29. Just five pedestrians came under the 24-minute limit, among the ten pedestrians, the second Czech competitor - Vojtěch Peroutka finished in ninth place with a time of 28:10.86.

Overall, Czech athletes won both among teenage girls and among teenagers. Our pedestrians fought to the limit of their abilities, but the gap in performance from the other representative teams was significant.

And one more weekend performance deserves attention. In the solo race in Turnov, student Marek Rösler (AC pada Boleslav tr Prückner) set a great personal record, when he broke the 15-minute barrier for the first time in his career with a performance of 14:23.77. With this, he leads this year's track tables, Dan Mochal from Liberec dominates the road with a 14:02 performance from Poděbrady.
