European Masters Athletics (EMA) has decided starting from 2024 for ME MASTERS NON STADIA to cancel the 30km race and replace it with a 20km track for all age categories!!!

A very bad decision by the EMA management that is as part of the "so-called harmonization of EMA regulations with WMA (World Veteran Athletics Association) regulations and on the basis of technical considerations" (that's the rationale, what.......???): 

At its meeting on October 30, 2023, the EMA Council decided that from 2024 the distances for the MASTERS (NON-STADIA) European Road Race Walking Championships for all age categories will be 5km, 10km and 20km. So the 30km race is cancelled, this one will be replaced by 20km! History, non-history, tables, performances - none of the management cares about that!

In essence, this decision is similar to the decision of the World Athletics (WA), which previously shortened the 50km to 35km......and for the year 2024 there will not even be a 35km race! Instead, at the Paris Olympics, the race will be in "Marathon Race Walking Mix Staffel" - that's officially how it is MONSTER calls!!!

So maybe it's time for AI to start making decisions instead of EMA / EMACNS / WA councils and maybe we'll see races in mixed relays for 3 hours walking MASTERS...........

On the Portuguese island of PORTO SANTO in May 2024, as part of the ME MASTERS NON STADIA, 20 km will be trampled instead of the traditional 30 km.    

In 2024, the longest pedestrian race will be 20 km in all age categories (the exception will probably be Zittau with a 35 km race for next year)!!

Perhaps it would be worth considering to organize an unofficial 30KM NON-STADIA WORLD MASTERS CHAMPIONSHIP in Zittau with a GENERAL PATRON SMOLA KONSTRUKCE Ltd.!!!
