Christopher Link (the German record holder and silver medalist from Poděbrady on the 35 km track from the recent EC in team walking) secured two titles in the span of 100 minutes at Saturday's German track walking championship in Bühlertal!

And they are the titles of the Champion of Germany with serial numbers already nineteen and twenty. At the age of 34, he rounded the number of titles to 20!!! - This is called a respectable sports career!

First, at the "Warm Up" he won the senior race at 5.000 m with a performance of 20:08,08 min. So that by approx. 100 minutes later he won the German title also on the double track 10.000 meters performance below the prestigious 40-minute mark, despite the hot summer weather and high air temperature. In time  39:51,11 mins  after 25 laps on the track, Christopher Linke had a lead of a good 200 meters over the strong competition.

He was the first pursuer Carl Dohmann (SCL Heel Baden-Baden), who with a performance of 40:36,74 min secured the silver. You ran out for bronze Leo Köpp (LG Nord Berlin), who with 40:48,58 min he also got under 41 minutes. The silver medalist from the Olympics narrowly missed out on a place on the podium Jonathan Hilbert (LG Ohra Energie; 41:18,11 min). Local matador Nathaniel Seiler from the organizing club TV Bühlertal reached the finish line fifth in 42:01,79.

This double race was Linke's first test for the planned marathon walking relay at the 2024 Olympics in Paris.....

At the same time, the German Championship of the MASTERS category for 5.000m walking on the track was held in Bühlertal.

In the M70 category, Horst Kiepert scored a great success in 36:07,71 min, competing in the Czech Republic in the colors of SMOLA CHÚZE PRAHA, who came close to winning the bronze medal!!!

Congratulations !!!
