Hard blow for Czech sport! Due to the coronavirus, events with more than a hundred people are canceled. They are also introducing similar measures in Slovakia and Austria.

It is decided. After a meeting of the State Security Council on Tuesday morning, the Czech Prime Minister Andrej Babiš announced that it was forbidden to hold all sports and cultural events in the country with the participation of more than a hundred people, with effect from 10 March.

Efforts to minimize the risk of infection with the new type of coronavirus also affect the daily lives of people who have not traveled to areas from which the highly infectious disease is spreading to the Czech Republic, and possibly have not even taken their heels out of the house. They are unable to see their loved ones because they live in nursing homes.

Slovakia and Austria are introducing similar measures:

In Slovakia, there is a 14-day ban on organizing any events, including sports events, regardless of their number.

In Austria, it is forbidden to hold outdoor events with more than 500 visitors and indoor events with more than 100 participants.
