Indoor season 2020

P1060475 2

We will say goodbye to the year 2019 at the New Year's Eve Hall on December 27, 2019 in the athletics hall at Střelnice in Jablonec nad Nisou.

The first indoor peak of 2020 can be considered the open championship of Berlin and Brandenburg of all ages at a 3.000m walk, which this time will take place in the Berlin Rudolf-Harbig-Halle am Olympiastadion on Sunday, January 12, 2020.

Juniors, teenagers and students will this time fight for championship titles and medals in Prague Stromovka. They will meet at their top on February 9.

Only a few days later (February 15), the Ferry Dusika in Vienna will traditionally host the Austrian Championships, the Vienna Indoor Walking Cup and the open international 3.000m walking race. The patron of the race is Franz Kropik.

On March 7, the MASTERS Veterans Championship of the Czech Republic will take place in the Jablonec hall at Střelnice. For many pedestrians, this will be the last test before the European MASTERS Championship.

The highlight of the indoor part of the MASTERS season will be the MASTERS European Indoor Championships, which will take place in Braze, Portugal on March 16-17 with a race of 3.000 m in the hall and on March 20 with an outdoor race for 5 km.

 Summer season 2020

574e10aa 152c 4a68 92dd 515dddddb69bOn March 21, the summer season of the Czech Republic's 50km walking championship in Dudince, Slovakia, as part of the traditional "Dudinské fifty", will start, where both Lukáš Gdula and Vít Hlaváč will try to fulfill the dream of being nominated for the Olympic Games in Japan. Tokyo (Saporru). Unfortunately, on the same day, the 5th year of the "Eisenberger Mühltalgehen" takes place at 15 km (5 km and 3 km for young people), in the romantic valley of the Iron Mountains lying between the German cities of Gera and Jena.

April 4 is the magical date of 2020, unfortunately on this day there are basically two most important events of the year, both from the domestic point of view of the most important event "Podebrady Walking" and from the international point of view of the European Championship MASTERS long walk on the road 30km (10km ), where the efforts of all the best European MASTERS competitors will go.

The traditional "Poděbrady Walking" - EA Race Walking Permit Meeting May 20, 16 !!!

Two weeks later, on April 18, pedestrians will gather for another force measurement at the traditional "Olomoucká dvacítka" meeting, this time it will be a "twenty" in the true sense of the word, because the club will finally compete for 20km again! !! (Czech Extraliga) and within the Czech 1st and 2nd league at 10km.

Minsk, Belarus, will host the World Championships for Walking Teams on May 2-3.

On May 16, a traditional, very important international walking holiday is being prepared in Naumburg, Germany, only Ron Weigel knows why he vehemently pushed for the date of Poděbrady on April 4.4 to hold Naumburg just 2 weeks after the World Walking Team Championships !! Inconceivable! Well, as you can see, they don't have a patent on reason in Germany either.

May 23 and 24 is reserved for important international walking meetings with our Slovak friends, on May 23 the traditional "Walking Feast in Záhorácky" in Borský Mikuláš and the very next day on May 24 "Juranská pätka" in Borský Svätem Jur. Both races are under the patronage of the 1992 Barcelona Olympics participant Ján Záhončík.

The oldest pedestrian road race in Europe is the "Prague - Brandys" plant. After the end of the 112th year, in 2015 the organizers decided to proceed with a radical change in the format of the Prague-Brandýs plant. The most important is the circuit route in the village of Zelenče, with a total length of 10 km. The date of the race (June 9?) Has not been confirmed anywhere yet, so we pray that Pavel Šára will decide to continue to hold the walking race when he is without a league, which was unfortunately this time in the "justice" and without any protection awarded to better organizers "(Olomouc, Milovice, Opatov, Nové Město n. Metují).

The holiday of walking in Rumburk at 1km, 5km and popular two-member relays has its place in the calendar traditionally at the beginning of the summer holidays, this time on July 4.

The best athletes in the junior and youth categories will meet for their championship on June 27-28 in Ostrava.

The veteran absolute highlight will be the World Championships in Toronto, Canada, which will take place from July 20 to August 1 and will be raced on a 5.000m walk on the track and 10km and 20km on the road.

The absolute peak not only of 2020, but of the entire four-year cycle will be the Olympic Games in Tokyo, Japan, and it was previously decided that after the experience of this year's World Championships in Qatar Hell, endurance races will move from Tokyo to Sapporo, where temperatures are about 8 ° C. lower than in hot Tokyo. The walking competitions in Sapporo will take place on the following dates: 31 July for 20 km men, 7 August for 20 km women and 8 August for 50 km men, while negotiations are still taking place on the 50 km women's walking marathon ......

October will belong to the classic international walking meetings:

On October 3, the walking competition will meet at the 2nd year of walking competitions in Staré Křečany on the 10km and 20km tracks and at the framework competitions for children and youth

The culmination and end of the entire summer season will be the traditional international meeting "Pražská chodecká hodinovka" (17th year) on the athletic tartan track of Olympus in Prague's Stromovka on Saturday, October 8. The traditionally very busy meeting with the highest price money and the best Czech competitors and very strong international competition from Germany, Poland, Austria and Slovakia will end the whole season. Let's believe it's successful for everyone!

We present our own term sheets in the next separate article.
