Lukáš Gdula became the Czech Republic's 50km walk champion in Dudince and at the same time conquered the magical 4-hour line with an excellent performance of 3: 59: 33.

As part of the traditional Dudinská 50, the Czech 7km men's walking championship took place. A total of XNUMX pedestrians from the Czech Republic took part in the start, but there are only three medals, so it was clear that not everyone would reach the finish line. That's exactly what happened.

He clearly confirmed the role of a clear favorite Lukáš Gdula, when at the same time he conquered the magical 4-hour limit and performance 3: 59: 33h he became the Champion of the Czech Republic in this longest and most difficult athletic discipline. Silver medal the veteran deservedly won Tomáš Hlavenka, when at 4: 20: 12 he also set a personal record in 42 years! Admirable !!! On the bronze rung he stepped out at last Vít Hlaváč with a performance of 4:30:46who knew the insidiousness of the 50km race for the first time on his own, especially in the second half and at the end of the race. Unfortunately, all other Czech competitors did not finish the race and gave up (Karel Ketner, Tomáš Vojtíšek, Ondřej Motl, Alexandr Malysa).

It is a great pity that the IAAF will probably replace this 2022km track with shorter 50km or 30km tracks by 35 at the latest due to senseless pressure and false powers. Thus, this royal discipline of 50km walk would die, which none of the active competitors or the public would like. Thanks to this, a big wave of protests arose against the decision of the IAAF board and we believe that there is still some hope for maintaining the walking marathon for 50km ............
