The best Czech athletes turned into the singing trio Black Milk

For the first time in her career, the javelin thrower Nikola Ogrodníková dominated the XNUMXth edition of the Czech Athletics Association's "Athlete of the Year" poll. Stickmaker Amálie Švábíková was named Junior of the Year. Half-breeder Lukáš Hodboď became the discovery of the year and Rudolf Černý won the award for the best coach of the year.

Right at the beginning, she finished second in Lugano and Dudince. She took sixth place in the World Team Championships, which took place in Taiwan, China, in a very decent time of 1:28:40. At the European Championships in Berlin, she then fought for the last kilometers for the title of continental champion. In the end, the silver medal was in another excellent performance 1:27:03 and Anežka thus continued her four-year-old bronze success from the European Championships in Zurich. Coach Piták's trustee ranks fifth in this year's world statistics. Anežka has twice been named Junior of the Year in the past, and her fifth place in the main category so far was 2014.

In the 2018 season, it was only women, who arranged for the Czech athletics to receive medals from the Berlin European Championships. Spearman Nikola Ogrodníková and pedestrian Anežka Drahotová won the silver, the marathon runners Eva Vrabcova Nyvltova bronze.

As a result, they won 1st, 2nd and 4th place in the poll. Only the third bowler Staněk disrupted female hegemony.

All three women met on the podium before the results were declassified. The organizers have decided to continue the tradition where the athletes take care of the singing pads during the gala evening. This is how Jaroslav Bába and Petr Svoboda, the quarterback relay team, introduced themselves in the past Fast girls, Barbora Špotáková or Jakub Vadlejch. This time, a trio of Czech medalists performed the modified lyrics of the song Sedm times, which in 2003 became the title song of the Black Milk group album of the same name, ie Tereza Černochová, Tereza Kerndlová and Helena Zeťová.
